Melanie Ditter is the owner and lead technician of Rogue Repair, LLC--a small, independent instrument repair shop on the east side of St Paul, MN. In 2013 she earned her diploma in Band Instrument Repair from MN State College - Southeast in Red Wing, and also has a Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Melanie has been a member of NAPBIRT (National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians) since 2014.
Right out of repair school, Melanie established her own repair shop inside a small local music store in Osseo, MN--buying tools and supplies, bit by bit, as her business grew. She then went on to spend three years as the saxophone, harmony clarinet, and french horn technician in a high-volume repair shop in Schmitt Music’s Edina location. In 2017, Melanie opened Rogue Repair with the goal of providing professional-quality service to wind players of all skill levels from around the Minneapolis / St Paul area. Rogue Repair’s customers include members of the Minnesota Orchestra, St Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Minnesota Opera, local college and university students, local band programs, and members of Minnesota’s vibrant community orchestra and band community.
When not repairing instruments, Melanie can often be found working on the house, enjoying the outdoors in all seasons, learning a new thing to craft or cook, listening to metal music, knocking the rust off her Russian language skills, and playing with her greyhound, Minka.
Not only skilled in repair, we are also dedicated to quality. We work hard to get it right.
